Lost in my thoughts
Agonized inferno
I stare into darkness
Abysmal; eternal

Do I matter or
Am I just nominal?
The man or a moment
Loved or expendable?

The dreams I have had
The hopes I have longed for
Are ashes before me
Vapors of lost favor

I think of lost
Chances I had
Opportunities squandered
Wasted life lead

Now caught in a dance
With the eternal demon
Damnation forever
No hope of redeeming

All that Fate gave me
Has now been forsaken
Courted by death
My destiny shaken

No penance or mercy
Judgment has fallen
Weighted in cruelty
Hellfire is calling

Crying out to God
His forgiveness imploring
The Son reaches down
The Spirit restoring

Telling others about Him
How His love saved me
The hope of His calling
He gave His all for me
